What scenarios can Gaffer Tape be used in?
The biggest difference between "Gaffer Tape" (matte cloth tape/photographic tape) and regular glossy cloth tape is that the surface is matte, non reflective, leaves no residue (high-quality version), and easy to tear.
The typical usage scenarios are as follows:
◉ Film and Television/Photography/Stage
• Fixed cables: Stick the light/microphone/power cables to the floor to prevent tripping, and the matte surface will not reflect in the lens.
• Wire bundling and management: Temporary bundling of equipment wires, with minimal residue left after tearing off.
• Temporary repair/shading: covering reflective points, fixing soft light paper/color chips, temporarily fixing props.
• Marking position: On stage, mark the actor's position/equipment placement point (matte surface that can be used for writing).
◉ Performance/Conference/Exhibition
• AV equipment wiring: fixed audio and video cables on the carpet of the conference room/booth.
• Temporary fixed decoration: fixing the edges and corners of the background panel, identification, and carpet flanging.
• Microphone fixation: Some models can be used to secure the lavalier microphone to clothing (please note skin sensitivity).
◉ Daily/household/handmade
• Temporary repair: repairing fabric items such as tents, bags, stage curtains, etc.
• Cable management: Temporary fixing of computer/desktop cables on the legs or back of the desk.
