What does butyl tape not stick to?

Butyl Tape is a non curing, high viscosity waterproof sealing tape that has good adhesion to most metals, concrete, glass, PVC, etc. However, it is prone to non stick or extremely poor adhesion on the following surfaces:
Butyl Tape
Double-Sided Butyl Tape

1、 Non adhesive or difficult to adhere materials/surfaces
•  Low surface energy plastics: PE (polyethylene), PP (polypropylene), PTFE (PTFE)
•  Surface leakage of oil, silicone oil, release agent, and asphalt oil
•  Powdered, sanding, and loose surface layer
•  Clear water, frozen water, continuous soaking on the water surface
•  Severe powdering of old paint surface layer

2、 General methods for improving bonding effectiveness
•  Cleaning: Use a dry cloth/alcohol to remove dust, oil stains, and silicone oil
•  Polishing: Difficult to stick surfaces other than PE/PP can be lightly polished to increase roughness
•  Primer: For extremely difficult to stick surfaces, specialized primer/primer can be used (recommended by many manufacturers)
•  Rolling: After pasting, press firmly to expel air
•  Avoid low-temperature construction (<5 ℃, poor flowability of butyl, affecting infiltration)
